Friday, December 10, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court struck down the Acting Secretary of Health’s school masking order.
With this decision we now revert back to our Health and Safety Plan approved in August of 2021.
Based on our Plan:
Face coverings are no longer required in our school buildings. However, any student or employee who prefers to wear a face covering will be encouraged to do so.
While no longer mandated, The District HIGHLY RECOMMENDS a face covering be worn in all school buildings regardless of vaccination status due to the current surge in cases we are experiencing in our state and county.
Please note that this decision does not impact the federal directive requiring all passengers and drivers to wear a mask on school buses, including on buses operated by public and private school systems; it also does not impact the federal masking mandate issued for Head Start and Pre-School Programs.
As always, thank you for all your efforts in helping keep our schools open.
